The door switch is a simple on/off mechanism that prohibits the dryer from operating when the door is open. The dryer cannot operate until the door switch signals that the door is closed. If your dryer won’t start or the switch shorted out, your washer will not operate and the switch will need to be replaced. This switch is a genuine OEM part. Please remember to disconnect power to the dryer before starting the repair.
